Meyer Family Vineyards Pinot Noir, McLean Creek Road Vineyard, Okanagan Valley BC
Readers rated this wine:

Classic, elegant, silky.
Another outstanding Pinot from MFVs, this one is made from grapes grown on the estate’s home McLean Creek Road vineyard in Okanagan Falls, which was originally planted in 1994. The site is comprised of Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and some Gewurztraminer, grown on sandy/gravel loams.
It was aged for 11 months in French oak barrels (25% new); natural malolactic fermentation occurred in late spring. In keeping with the estate's hands-off approach in the cellar to allow the true expression of terroir to shine through, the wine is unfined and unfiltered.
Earthy notes of beet greens, leather, forest floor and rhubarb are woven with red cherry, cranberry, star anise. vanilla and fine brown spices. It's a silky wine with classic pinosity, high-toned expressive red fruit and spice flavours. It is elegant yet juicy, supple and persistent. An absolutely charming Pinot.
